Olinda is the muse and wandering around her is Bonsucesso SambaClube. If ten years ago we witnessed that culture coming out from Recife with Chico Science, Nação Zumbi and mundo livre s/a, we now see a much more relaxed and subtle sound from Olinda. Former members of Eddie (a legendary local band, which hit big with one of their songs in the voice of Cássia Eller - "Quando A Maré Encher") and of Sheik Tosado (a "frevo-core" band) Roger Man, Berna Vieira, André Édipo, Hugo Carranca and Chico Tchê continue with the metaphoric language of the "mangue" sound. They recreate and even renew the Mangue Beat - which was the trigger of this cultural movement - yet with none of its statements. It's spontaneous and expressive as the Olinda hills, mixing up coconut, "ciranda", "maracatu" and "samba" with reggae, dub and electronic experimentalism.
