Mambo que Sambo Vol. 1
Jorge Ceruto
BRAZIL

This is the result of Cuban artist Jorge Ceruto musical and personal experiences that started 20 years ago when he decided to search the origin of african rhythms in Cuba. When he arrived in Brazil in 1998, Ceruto began a new project: researching the Afro-Brazilian rhythms. Over time, Ceruto decided to join the two African drums that gave rise to the culture of both countries: - Drums Rumpilé (Brazil)- Bata drums (Cuba) He incorporated instruments from Africa, the Caribbean and other cultures. I've Merged three keys that will govern the universal music: - Clave de rumba - Abakuá- Clave de samba (reggae - tamanquinho)- Clave blues Ceruto multiplied by 7 claves these three musical notes. The result: 21. That was the amount of instruments used in each music that he created within the project "Mambo Que Sambo". The harmony was based on classical music. The lyrics and melodies have always arisen at dawn of dreams the artist. Instrumental musicians of the highest quality, professional and human were summoned by the artist on the album. Maestros Naná Vasconcelos, João Donato and Zeca Baleiro participated in the project (disc and documentary). The musical documentary that will have 12 chapters, tells the creation of innovative rhythm "Mambo Que Sambo". The first chapter of the series is a general summary. Behind the scenes of the recording are recorded in this chapter. Mambo Que Sambo - Chapter I
