Baile Bass Turbo Trio
BRAZIL
The 80's really have something that is worthy to be rescued: Mantronix, Miami Bass, Mr. Afrika Bambaataa's Electro. Supported by the weight of such references, producer Tejo Damasceno proposed to MC BNegao and also to his fellow producer Alexandre Basa for them to team up and make Turbo Trio, a combo that arises in order to put some more heat into the fast paced BPM grooves. The influences (besides the ones already mentioned) go from reggae to "funk carioca", and basicaly everything that has already come along Turbo's way, be it in Sao Paulo streets, Porto Alegre or Rio. The beats are heavily electronic; the textures resemble to jamaican sound; the rhythms - fast and urgent most of the time, pulsing on very low frequencies, shaking the listener's brain. In fact it is highly recommended to listen to Turbo with hi-power sub-woofers on, in order to prevent from blowing regular speakers up. This thing is LOW, be warned.
